(7-2 step 2): We had talked to a couple of people, including our tech
advisor, and Van's, regarding the oversized holes we'd put in the bottom rudder
rib half. None of them thought they were to big to cause buch of a problem, but
all mentioned that it was, more-or-less, an educated guess, so we thought for an
$8 part, we'd go ahead and replace it. It might be fine now, but I wonder what
2,000 hours of vibration would do to it... maybe nothing, but its easier to fix
it now ;-) So, the replacement part came just in time! We got it today, the
day we planned on priming... so Angela jumped on it! She mentioned "it goes
much quicker the second time around"!

Now, we're finally done with all the prep, so we
had our first big Alumiprep party... I say Alumiprep, and not Alodine because as
we were finishing up some of the neighbors decided to drop by and check out the
progress. Turns out they stayed for what seemed like hours! By the time they
left, it was after 11:00 at night, and there was no way we were going to go
through that whole process again for the Alodine... argh! We're tired!! Looks
like it'll be tomorrow.
